Phone Contacts are precious. The contact list is build over time, as you meet new people, you save their contact info in your phone. It will be difficult to regain all contacts in-case you lose them.
Its better to keep a backup of all your phone contacts. So, you can restore them whenever required.
Backing up Android Phone Contacts is easy and it does not even require any special app. Android by default has a Contacts Backup and Restore feature.
To Backup Android Phone Contacts to SD Card –
- Open ‘Contacts’ on your phone
- Click on ‘menu’, Select Import/Export
- Select ‘Export to SD card’
- Confirm export.
Note: note the backup file name. It will be something …vcf. The file name is generated automatically in serial order. For eg. If you are creating the backup for the first time, it will be named something like …01.vcf. Then the next one …02.vcf.
To Restore Android Phone Contacts from SD Card –
- Open ‘Contacts’ on your phone
- Click on ‘menu’, Select Import/Export
- Select ‘Import from SD card’
- Select phone or gmail account, where you would like to import contacts.
- Now it will search SD card for vCard files
- Select the backup file you want to restore.
