PPHelper is an incredibly popular jailbreak tool brought to us by Pangu and PP Assistant jailbreak teams. Unfortunately, only those with 64-bit devices can use PPHelper and, because it is a semi-untethered jailbreak, it must be reinstalled every time your device reboots. Thankfully, Luca Todesco has released a tool that will help with that, automatically reactivating PPHelper for you. Below are the steps you need to follow to install PPHelper onto your iOS device.

Before you Jailbreak :

  1. Make sure you are on the latest iTunes version – update if needed
  2. Back your data up using iTunes and/or iCloud
  3. Disable your Passcode and Touch ID if applicable – Settings > Touch ID & Passcode
  4. Disable Find My iPhone/iPad – Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone/iPad

How to Install PPHelper :

  1. Download PPHelper onto your computer and install it
  2. Plug your iOS device into your computer
  3. Locate the PPHelper icon on your desktop and right=click it
  4. Click on Run as Administrator
  5. PPHelper will open and should now detect your connected iOS device. If it doesn’t, unplug your device, wait a minute and then plug it back in again
  6. A green Jailbreak button will be in the center of the window – click on it
  7. If requested, input a Captcha code or you won’t be able to carry on
  8. PPHelper will now get to work preparing the jailbreak to go onto your device
  9. When the process has finished, you will see a PPHelper icon on your device home screen , tap on it
  10. You are going to be asked to provide permission for a new profile to be put onto your device – you must allow this otherwise the jailbreak will not be successful
  11. Now open Settings > Security on your iOS device and tap on Profiles
  12. Look for the certificate for PPHelper and tap on Trust
  13. Come out of settings and launch PP Jailbreak from your home screen
  14. Click to Allow Push Notifications and then make sure you uncheck the box to the side of Install PP Assistant
  15. Tap on the Jailbreak button on the screen
  16. Lock your screen and wait , a notification from Pangu will appear
  17. You will see a warning message, telling you Storage is Full , ignore it
  18. Wait for your iOS device to be rebooted and you should now see Cydia on your Home Screen. If not, go through all the steps again
