There are many other places to download Android Apps other than the Official Android Market. I have listed few such places in the following article – Places to Download Non-Market Android Apps.

You now know other places to get the Apps for your Android Phone, but installing non-market app is by default disabled on Android Phones due to security reasons. To install non-market apps you will need to enable the “Allow installation from Unknown sources” option under the settings menu.

To enable the installation of non-market apps follow the following steps –

  1. Goto Settings -> Applications
  2. Click “Unknown sources”

Note: Installing Android Market Apps is most recommended. Be careful when installing other than market apps as they may be some fake program or spam.
